Jag Girls Compete at Woodward

The girls ran their 2nd outdoor meet at Woodward and placed 2nd out of 8 teams and the team that won it was Dallas Center Grimes who is in Class 3A. It was very hard for 7 of the teams to compete against Dallas Center Grimes because they had so many more girls than everyone else at the meet but it made it very good competition to go against and the other 7 teams competed for 2nd and the Jags were fortunate to finish in that spot.

It was a great night for running and a great night to continue improving in our times and every relay improved from the first meet and most of our running events.

Field events have been a big part of the team scoring this season as Alex Kitchen placed 2nd in the shotput while tying the school record at 37-05.00 and Maddy Stanek also had her personal best in the Disc with a throw over 94'. Coach Jim Duncan works with the boys and girls throwers and every single boy and girl thrower had personal best and if they are all at personal best this early there are big things to come from all of them.

The girls have a week off before their next meet and they need this break because we are fighting some injuries and we need to get everyone back ready to finish the season and also gives us time to fine tune our handoffs and starts. If we can get everyone back and improve on a few things the girls can really go out and compete each and every night.

The Girls will compete at Manson next Thursday and the following Monday night is the Home COED meet. So if you never get out and get to see the girls run that would be a great chance to come out and see them compete and a chance to show everyone how their hard work and dedication is paying off.
