Jaguar's Girls' Track Competes at Humboldt Indoor

The girls track team competed in their first meet of the year at the Humboldt Indoor. It was nice to be able to run on a track as the weather has not cooperated so far this track season. It was great for the girls to be able to compete with other girls teams and for the coaches to be able to see some times and how each girl competes on meet days. Running on streets and hallways makes it very hard to get them in shape and very hard to actually compete against each other because of all the cold conditions so we took advantage of this meet.

Alex Kitchen won the shot put and is only 8 inches from the school record. The shuttle hurdle returned Haylea Hutchinson, Madison Lane, Addi Hindt from last year's relay and were able to place 2nd. There are about 9 girls that are interested in the hurdles so there will be very good competition to fill that 4th spot. The 4x400 also returned 3 runners from last year's relay Kenna Scott, Lauren Eslick, Breck Mills and placed 2nd. This is another relay the girls will have a great competition to put the best 4 out there. The 4x200 also placed 2nd and returning Keena Scott, Breck Mills, Lauren Eslick and Camryn Lane did an excellent job filling in the 4th spot. This is also another relay that will have very good competition for the top 4 spots.

Addi Hindt placed 2nd in the 60 Hurdles and the 60 meter dash had 3 girls place in the top 9 out of 30 girls with Camryn Lane placing 3rd, Addi Hindt 5th and Alex Kitchen placing 9th.

Our main goal this meet was to get out and run and get some times on all the girls. The number 1 goal moving forward is that we get into shape and every meet we try improving on all our times. The girls will have 1 week with no meets where they have a lot to work on. Coaches will use this time to get times on all the girls and start figuring out who is Varsity and who will be running JV.
