Southeast Valley High School

Girls Track

Jag Girls Compete at Home

The girls track team finally got to run an outdoor meet after having 2 canceled the week before due to weather conditions. It was great for the girls to finally compete and for coaches to get some times.

The girls track team has 28 out this season so they were able to have 2 teams in this and everyone got to run a few events and this really helps for getting times and putting things together in other meets. It was also nice for the younger girls to experience a High School meet and learn what the expectations are and learn the things we need to work on or improve on.

The Southeast Valley has a Cheeta (Top 10 All time at Southeast Valley) and the girls have already set 9 new ones and that is very good this early in the year. A bunch of last years girls are already running faster times than last season and if they can continue this throughout the season we can have very good things to look forward to.

The Class A girls were able to place 3rd and had 3 first place finishes and 4 2nd place finishes and this was great because there were some bigger schools there and very good competition with Carroll, Kuemper Catholic and Webster City.

Coaches were very pleased with the first night results and know what needs worked on and hope to get better every time they touch the track.. The Girls track team is coached by Tonya Harrsion, Nolan Johnson, Jim Duncan and Head Coach mike Swieter
