Two Jaguar Girls Qualify for State

The girls track team finished their regular season at the SQM in Holstein. The girls continued to improve in their times and were able to set some new school records and got a couple girls to state.

Shelby Mills had a great night of throwing and placed 2nd in the Discus. This set a new school record and qualified her for the State Meet. She is currently ranked 2nd going into the State meet.

It has paid off to have coach Duncan working with them every day.

Addi Hindt Set a new school record in the 100 Hurdles and advanced to the State meet. She currently is 15th. Both Shelby and Addi will compete at the State meet next Friday.

The Shuttle Hurdle relay placed 3rd and set a new school record with Paige Weiland, Haylea Hutchinson, Madison Lane and Addi Hindt. They missed making it to state by less than a half of a second. It was close and disappointing to get that close but they have had an outstanding season in that event.

The 4x400 team who were conference champions placed 4th with Kenna Scott, Lauren Eslick, Breck Mills and Mila Johnson.

Mila Johnson placed 5th in the open 400 and tied the school record. Her time tied the final spot to make it to state but the other girl placed 2nd at her meet which automatically qualifies them.

Every relay placed higher than what they came into the meet and that was great for all the girls. They have continued to improve every night and their hard work paid off.

Coach Swieter looks forward to the future as the Jaguars were a very young team and hope they all stick it out because there is something special with this group.
