JH FB Winss Two over SCC

After two games on the road, The Jaguar Jr High Football teams played on their home turf against the Titans of South Central Calhoun on Tuesday, October 1st. The 7th grade offense scored in bunches with Tailback Tristan Hanson and Fullback Wyatt Muench leading the way. Hanson scored on runs of 75 and a 2 yard plunge in the end zone. Muench scored on a 50 yard swing pass and a 7 yard TD run. Muench scored on 3 out the 4 two point conversions making the score 30-0 after the first quarter. The scoring continued in the 2nd as safety Tristan Hanson read the QB and picked off a SCC pass and scampered 20 yards in the endzone. Hanson followed with the 2 point conversion. Later in the 2nd Hanson burst up the middle for a 25 yard TD run; QB Boe Davis converted the 2 point conversion on a QB Iso play making the score 46-0 at half. Opening the third Quarter Hanson once again burst up the middle for a 48 yard TD run; OB Bennet Nolte scored the 2 point conversion making the score 54-0. In the fourth quarter cornerback Nicholas Vogel intercepted the pass attempt stopping a SCC drive making the final score 54-0. The line of ends Jax Hindt and Reece Carlson, interior line men of Chris Andrews, Grant Ott, Jaxson Vancannon, Anthony Goodpaster, and Jax Spangler opened holes for the backs and controlled the line of scrimmage on the defensive side of the ball.

Following the 7th grade game, the 8th grade Jags found themselves in a battle as both teams played good, tough defense refusing to give up a touchdown. The Jag offense was driving down the field in the 2nd quarter when a costly fumble on the Titans 10 yard line stopped the drive. Safety Josiah Hefley came up big on the next Titan possession intercepting the ball to end the first half in a scoreless tie. The second half continued with a battle in the trenches as both lines struggled to gain control of the game. A couple of costly fumbles cost the Jag offense but the defense came up big stopping the SCC offense deep in Jag Territory. With roughly four minutes left in the game the Jag offense mounted a gutsy drive by behind TB Parker Bintz pounding the ball up the middle and outside. Bintz finally hit paydirt with 58 seconds left to go in the contest and Bintz scored the 2 pt conversion making the score 8-0. Safety Josiah Hefley again came up big again picking off a deep pass on a tipped ball ending the game with a hard fought 8-0 victory.
