Jaguar JH Volleyball Sees a Season of Improvement Come to an End

TheSVMS volleyball team capped their season on Tuesday night with a home game against the Eagles from Eagle Grove.

After a tough loss to the Manson Cougars the week before, the Jags were ready to end their season on a high note when they welcomed Eagle Grove in Burnside on October 11th. 7th grade got the night started by splitting with the Eagles for a final match score of 3-3. The 8th graders closed the curtain on their junior high volleyball careers, falling to the Eagles 2-4.

With numbers that could compete with a football roster, the Jaguar volleyball program can anticipate a lot of talent coming their way. 43 (yes, 43) girls signed up to play this season and each one made unforgettable contributions! Each young woman walked off the court on October 11th with tremendous improvements in their skills, knowledge, and understanding of the game. The season may not have gone exactly as we had hoped and anticipated, but each girl came to practice and got better with each opportunity that was thrown their way. Throughout the season the junior high volleyball program faced obstacles of all kinds; from practicing in Dayton and playing some home games in Gowrie to unexpected losses and thrilling wins, the girls faced everything with grace and class! The future of Jaguar volleyball is looking promising!
