JH Girls' Track & Field at Newell-Fonda
On Tuesday, May 13th, the Southeast Valley Junior High Girls track team traveled to Newell-Fonda to participate in the Mustang Relays. The Jags scored a team total of 68 points on their way to a 4th play finish on the night.
Highlights of the meet are as follows:
100 meters: Madelynn Miller (2nd), Elsie Johnson (6th)
200 meters: Karley Rae Smith (2nd)
400 meters: Farrah Tuel (4th), Karley Rae Smith (5th)
800 meter run: Charlotte Blair (4th)
1500 meter run: Goldie Davis (5th)
4x100 meter relay: Madelynn Miller, Tana Harrison, Claire Peterson, Elcie Johnson (2nd)
4x200 meter relay: Alexia Fiala, Kensley Cox, Kelsey Hayes, Tana Harrison (6th)
4x400 meter relay: Jaylon Zika, Farrah Tuel, Goldie Davis, Charlotte Blair (3rd)
4x800 meter relay: Bella Dorsey, Charlie Dorsey, Alyssa Luhmann, Jaylie Slinker (5th)
Sprint Medley Relay: Madelynn Miller, Claire Peterson, Elcie Johnson, Kensley Cox (4th)
Distance Medley Relay: Jaylie Slinker, Bella Smith, Jaylon Zika, Tenley Kastendieck (4th)
4x100 shuttle hurdle relay: Kinslie Nolte, Bella Smith, Claire Peterson, Kelsey Hayes (5th)
Shot Put: Hanna Wicklein (2nd)
Long Jump: Madelynn Miller (4th)
Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, “ This was an eye opener for our team. We saw excellent competition from several teams tonight. We need to regroup and finish the season strong. The coaches are proud of all the girls and what we have accomplished this season so far.”
The Jags will next be in action Friday, May 16th, when they host the Twin Lakes Conference Junior High Meet. Go Jags!!
