Softball 6/7/2021 VS West Bend Mallard

The Wolverines from West Bend Mallard traveled to Harcourt Monday night to face off against the Southeast Valley softball team for a varsity only contest. The game would end by a score of 12-0 after three innings of play in the Jags’ favor.

Maddie Vansickle would face 11 batters and give up zero runs and just one hit on the night. The left side duo of Ellie Nolte and Kenna Scott would go to work recording eight out 12 outs on the night and Vansickle striking out the other two.

The offense would strike early and often with hot bats from the top to the bottom of the lineup. Ellie Nolte, Chloe Hicks, Emily Jaeschke, Maddie Vansickle, Emily Hemmestead, and Olivia Tenuta would all score in the first inning to put the jags up 6-0 early. Tenuta would carry the big stick tonight going two for two at the plate with a double, a single, and five RBIs. Senior Emily Jaeschke and freshman Jordyn Rowley would add two more in the second inning, and the Jags would put the Wolverines away in the third scoring the four final runs needed to win in run rule fashion. Chloe Hicks and Emily Jaeschke would reach base and advance to second and third respectively; both being drove in by a line drive single up the middle off the barrel of junior pinch hitter Teighan Osborne and pinch hitter Alex Kitchen would bring in the final run of the game for the Jags, scoring  Rowley from second on a repeat line drive single, this time down the third base line.

Southeast Valley softball will continue it’s busy schedule Wednesday for an away contest in Emmetsburg for a JV/Varsity contest.
