Baseball 6/3 VS Humboldt

0-16 L (5-2)
The very talented Humboldt Wildcats took care of the Jaguar baseball team easily in the third
game of the week for the Jaguars. Humboldt used a 12 run second inning to leave little doubt. Junior
Zack Miller threw well for the Jaguars starting on the mound but a few bobbled plays allowed the
Wildcats to keep hitting and the Jaguars just can’t give outs to good teams like Humboldt. Miller
finished the game only allowing 2 earned runs of the 14 he surrendered which is tough for any pitcher to
overcome. Sophomore Drew Corell came in to finish the shorted 3 inning game also throwing pretty
good for his first varsity pitching experience.
There was some good hits for the Jags in the game. Drew Corell, Sam Hanson and Kolson Kruse
all included roped singles while Drew’s hit was a crushed double but the Jags couldn’t string them
together to get any runners to cross the plate.
JV: ACTION – 0-20 L (1-4)
A tough game for the Jaguar JV squad as the wildcats were on the ball. The Jaguars sent out
Junior Kaleb Monroe who threw strikes but the Wildcats had to much firepower. The Jaguars had two
hits on the day by Kaden Holder and Elias Field. Elias Field got the thrill of his life getting to come into
relief as the Jags were short of pitching. Not normally a pitcher, Elias helped out the team by stepping
into a role he hadn’t had before.
