Softball 5/27/2021 VS SCC

The Southeast Valley softball team traveled to Lytton on Thursday night for a varsity contest against the Titans from South Central Calhoun. The Jaguars suffered their second loss this week by a score of 8-7 and fell to 0-2 on the season. The offense was led by freshman Ellie Nolte and senior Emily Jaeschke. The two would combine for five of the Jags' seven runs and five out of the seven hits the team had. Kenna Scott and Emily Hemmestead were also contributors to the Jag offense, each with a single and run scored of their own. The Jaguars were speedy on the bases and took advantage when they could, successfully stealing seven bases out of eight attempts. Sophomore Maddie Vansickle, showed out for the Jags in the circle. She  threw a complete game, striking out 10.

Despite the stellar offensive performances and the great pitching efforts, defense would be the Achilles heel for Southeast Valley where there were four errors late in the game that allowed the Titans to seal the walk off win.
