Lady Jags Basketball Come Back to Topple Alta-Aurelia

Burnside, Iowa January 8th- The Southeast Valley Jaguars (5-6) came back from a 16 point halftime deficit against Alta-Aurelia (1-10) to win 48-46 in the closing seconds.
Chloe Hicks led all scorers with 14 and Emily Hemmestad followed with 13. There were 8 girls that tallied points; Jaeschke (6), Madison Lane (5), Haylee Welter (4), Sydney Carlson (3), Kenna Scott (2), and Shelby Mills (1).
“Our defense and rebounding paid off in the second half along with our 25 point 3rd quarter. I challenged the girls to cut the lead by the end of the third and they even the score in just one quarter. I don’t remember ever coaching a team that has come back that far and winning. Burnside, Iowa January 8th - The Southeast Valley Jaguars (JV) also came up on top against Alta - Aurelia (JV) with a score of 18-11. The tenacious defensive pressure of Alta Aurelia did not stop the girls from dropping in baskets of their own.
Alex Kitchen led all scorers with 8 points. Kenna Scott (4), Madison Doyle (3), Alexis Peterson (2), and Bella Pudenz (1). Kenna Scott also mustard up 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 block shots. Contributing multiple ways on the court.
