JV Boys Basketball January 5th and 7th
The JV Boys' basketball squad returned to the hardwood on January 5th, defeating the South Hamilton Hawks by the score of 44-40. The game was full of ups and downs for the Jaguars, leading by 6 points early in the first half to trailing by 11 early on in the 3rd quarter. The Jaguars were able to close out the 3rd quarter on a 11-4 run to carry the momentum into the final period and take back the lead. Two key made 3-point baskets in the 2nd half really helped seal the deal and hold the Hawks at bay.
Leading the way in scoring was Drew Corell with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. Eli Johnson scored 9 points and dished out 2 assists. Justin Loseke returned from an injury and played in his first game of the season, adding 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. The duo of Carl Berglund and Lane Fevold chipped in with 4 points a piece, with Fevold also recording 6 rebounds in the game. Parker Garcia had 1 point and 3 rebounds, and Sammy Sytsma collected 1 carom off a South Hamilton missed shot. Logan Songer also played in the match-up.

On Thursday, January 7th, the Jaguars welcomed Glidden-Ralston to Gowrie and earned a 72-19 victory. A total of 4 Jag players reached double figures in scoring, with both Drew Corell and Carl Berglund scoring 15 points; and both Lane Fevold and Justin Loseke scoring 12 points. Logan Songer added 8 points and 2 rebounds. Parker Garcia chipped in with 6 points and 4 steals. Rounding out the scoring was Tyler Paterson with 4 points.
