JVR Baseball Write Ups

@ Madrid

Game 1: L 7-9

Game 2: W 5-3

The Jag JVR team started their season with a split to Madrid.  Jesse Hansen pitched the first game giving up 1 hit and 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work.  He had four strikeouts also.  Hitting for the Jags was Justin Loseke with two hits and scoring two runners.  Colby Russell had a monster game going 3 for 3 with two RBI’s. Pitcher Jesse Hansen did his job getting one hit along with freshmen Ethan Ackerson who also had a hit on the game.  Game 2 went a little bit more favorably for the Jags as they pulled off the win.  Colby Russell threw very well going the complete game only allowing two hits with seven strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. A great pitching performance from a young player we hope to see throw a lot in a few years.  Hits for the Jags in the second game was spread out throughout the team.  With Carl Berglund and Jesse Hansen getting a base hit along with fellow freshmen Caden Konecne getting one hit.  Bryson Axness did his job at the plate getting two walks while Elias Field had one hit which scored two RBI’s on the hit.  Hane Sorenson also had 2 RBI’s on the day.



Game 1: 0-7 L

Game 2: 4-3 W

The jvr baseball team started out their season with a tough loss to Humboldt losing 0 to 7. The bright spot of the game was Justin Loseke throwing 2 ⅓ innings while striking out six batters. In the next game the Jags won in dramatic fashion as Logan Songer hit a double scoring the winning run. Other contributors to the offensive side of things was Carson Joyce with 1 hit, Elias Field had 2 walks whole Justin Loseke hit 2 doubles and 1 single while scoring  two RBI's rounding out the scoring was Hane Sorenson getting one hit. On the mound, Colby Russell got the win with five strikeouts on the mound.


@ Garrigan

Game 1: W 7-6

Game 2: L 7-5

The Jags traveled to Algona for the next matchup against  Garrigan. In the first game Carl Berglund threw a good game giving up 3 earned runs pitching and also added two hits to help his cause offensively. One of those hits allowed a runner to cross the plate. Other Jags collecting hits was Justin Loseke and Andrew Corell each getting a hit a piece. In the second game the Jags couldn't quite pull off the sweep losing 7 to 5. Carl Berlund continued to hit the ball warning two hits while fellow freshmen Drew Corell did the same two hits on the day. Other Jags getting hits included Elias Field, Ross Larson and Jesse Hansen all getting a hit on the game.


@ Roland story

 game 1: L 13-7

Game 2: L 22-4


It was a tough day on the diamond for the Jaguar Baseball team as they dropped two contests to Roland Story. Logan Songer started on the mound for the Jags in the first game. Logan pitched well but the defense didn't help out in the contest. Justin Loseke had himself a day going 4-4 on the day with a triple, double and two singles. Hane Sorenson added 1 hit and an RBI. Kaleb Monroe also added one hit and an RBI while Elias Field finished the day with 2 hits and Ross Larson added one hit also to round out the hits for the Jags. It was a tough second game for the Jags with Caden Konecne getting a hit in that game. 


THE JVR team has more opportunities this year with games Wednesday with a triple header JVR/JV/V with Madrid starting at 430 and Thursday as they finish up their season with a double header with  Garrigan to finish up their season.
