6/29 Pocahontas L 16-2 (4-3)

Print Version

The ranked Indians from Pocahontas came into Dayton, IA looking for a repeat of the first game of the season as they won decisively.  This time was much of the same as miscues on defense lead to an 11 run inning which the Jags defense let some easy plays escape and the Indians capitalized on the mistakes.  Outside of the fourth inning the Jags would have been in the ballgame.  Pitching for the Jaguars was sophomore Zack Miller, who had a rough start but showed promise in his first varsity start.  Jacob Slininger, Rhett Grandfield and Parker Garcia all had innings on the mound for the Jags.  Hitting was again decent for the Jaguars as Sam Hanson had another good game at the plate going two for three with an RBI. A slew of other Jags, added a hit a piece including Caden Larson, Hunter Sorenson, Kolson Kruse, Jacob Slininger and Parker Garcia.  Kolson’s lone hit of the game ended up being a double in the gap.  Another tough game against a very good opponent which happened on Senior night as the crowd gave their appreciation to our three graduating seniors; Chase Kamp, Jacob Slininger, and Zane Geis who got into the varsity action with a pinch hit in the 5th inning.

JV ACTION: NO JV GAME due to COVID restictions.
