North Central District FFA Conference Held

Nevada, Iowa ~ The North Central District FFA Conference was held on Saturday, March 7th at Nevada High School.   There were 30 chapters present with over 200 members either competing or attending sessions.

The Parliamentary Procedure team of Allison Bethel, Chyann Hicks, Carson Lambert, Caden Larson, and Carson Suchan earned a silver rating and fourth overall.

Blake Peterson was on the ballet for North Central District Treasurer but was lost to Michaela Fjeld of Iowa Falls-Alden.   

Proficiency Awards:  The chapter had twelve individuals compete in the FFA Proficiency award area.   Ten of the nine applications advanced to state.  Results from the district level is as follows:  Ag Mechanics-Lucas Jondle-Silver; Beef Production-Placement-Rylie Ferarri-Silver and advanced; Diversified Livestock Production-Benjamin Carlson-Gold and advanced; Diversified Ag. Production, Placement – Blake Peterson – silver and advanced to state; Diversified Crop Production-Jaden Cline-Gold and advanced; Landscape Management-Morgan Castenson-Silver; Fiber and Oil Crop Production-Joel Lambert-Gold and advanced; Forage Production-Carson Lambert-Gold and advanced; Sheep Production-Shelby Mills-Silver and advanced; Chyann Hicks-Gold-advanced; Swine Production-Lincoln Miller-Silver and advanced; and Pierce Woodruff, Gold and advanced to state.

Four members will receive the FFA Association Academic Award who are Margaret Anderlik, Jaynie Ferrari, Aidan Lemke, and Lincoln Miller.  All four members have maintained at grade point average of 3.5 or above for three or more years while in high school.

Iowa FFA Degrees:  The following students had their records and application verified by the district advisor to receive their Iowa FFA Degree.  Those individuals were Aidan Lemke and Lincoln Miller.  They will receive their degree at the State FFA Leadership Conference in April.   The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest degree a member can receive on the state level. The 92nd Iowa FFA Leadership Conference will take place in Ames, Iowa on April 19-21st, 2020
