JV Girls Basketball came up short

Print Version

On January 24th the Jaguars traveled to Newell. Struggling against a full court press the JV Jaguars only managed 6 points in the first half to Newell Fonda’s 36.  Our ball handling skills struggle continued in the last two quarters with a final score of 8 to 49.

On January 28th we enjoyed a home game for a change.  The Lady Jaguars started out with a strong first quarter with a score of 6-9.   The full court press again caused us problems in the second quarter falling behind 10-23 at half.  In the third quarter the Jaguars matched the scoring points for point ending with 17-30. The fourth quarter also showed stronger team effort. Sydney Carlson led the team in rebounds with 7, Allison Bethal pulled in 6. Scoring for the game was led by Carlson with 8, Bethal and Payton Dorsey added 5 each, Kyleigh Erritt 4, while Shelby Mills and Jenna Hansen had 2 each. Other girls on the team Madison Lane, Madison Doyle, Shinuna Juma, Mackenzie Lambert,  Emma Systma was absent. Everyone on the team contributed on the defensive end for a total of 24 rebounds and 6 steals. Despite stronger team effort by the Jags in the second half we landed short 26-40 at the final buzzer.
