SV art students compete in Triton Art Show – 2020

Print Version

Four students recently represented Southeast Valley High School in the Annual Triton Art Show held on the Iowa Central Campus.  The show took place this past Sunday, January 26th at 1:00 in the afternoon.  The four Southeast Valley artists taking artwork were all seniors this year.  Haley Studyvin, Madison Allbee, Emerald Jordison and Viatris Scott all took artwork with Haley taking two of her pieces.  There was some tough competition with multiple schools represented and some very well done pieces.  Haley Studyvin was the lone winner of an award on the day.  Haley was awarded in the drawing category for her piece (shown below) which utilized pastels to create the color on top of the black charcoal.  Haley also took her piece appropriately titled Drum Messiah which was requisitioned by fellow SV student Logan Stapp, no detail necessary for that piece.   Madison Allbee sent her original painting which features cherry blossoms in a landscape, while Emerald Jordison took her shadow box which is layers of transparent paper to build the layers of the landscape. Each object is a different transparent paper which she painted the object onto and finished it with layering them on top of each other.  Pretty cool process and a cool outcome for sure.   Finishing up the artists was Viatris Scott who took her drawing of a fellow student playing the piano.  Viatris has did this artwork as a painting and decided on entering her drawing which entered a very tough category at the show.

Congratulations to the participants and the Award winner Haley Studyvin.
