Girl's week 3 results

Fort Dodge, Iowa - Southeast Valley (4-0) Fort Dodge St. Edmonds (0-3) - Another come from behind victory for the Lady Jaguars to beat the Gaels.  A slow first quarter allowed the Gaels to jump out to a 14 - 4 lead in the first quarter led by Cambrie McBride’s 3 three point goals. Second half defensive effort by Jaynie Ferrari helped the Jaguars battle back and tie the game 2 minutes into the 4th quarter.  Scorers for the Jaguars were Hicks - 11, Jaeschke 10, Hemmested 8, Mills 4, Welter 4, Scott 3, Bethal 2. “The composure of the team in the 4th quarter was gained from the previous 3 games. Each game we become more and more confident.” Coach Mills.  

The JV also came from behind to beat the Gaels 33-26.  Lane 10, Erritt 6, Bethal 6, Dorsey 4, and Carlson 4.  

Gowrie, Iowa - Southeast Valley (4-1) Emmetsburg (4-1) - The frigid air of northern Iowa slowed the Jaguars in the first half and the E’hawks out scored the Jaguars 47-8.  The team responded in the second half by exchanging buckets and equaling Emmetsburg 19-19. The score finished 66-27 and the Jaguars showed improvement and patience in the second half. Scorers for the Jags were Jaeschke 6, Hemmested 4, Scott 4, Ferrari 4, Hicks 3, Carlson 2, Welter 2, and Mills 2.  “The girls adjusted to the speed and physicality of the E’hawks. Patience and offense combined with focus on fundamentals helped their second half play.” Coach Mills

The JV also competed against the E’hawks and lost 23-52.  Scorers were Lane 7, Hansen 4, Welter 3, Carlson, 3, Dorsey 3, and Lambert 1.
