Jags return to action in Ogden

Print Version

The Jags returned to action Thursday night after Christmas break traveling to Ogden to tangle with Ogden, Audubon, and Greene County in quadrangular action. The Jags opened the night in dominant fashion defeating Audubon 77-3, followed by a 63-14 win over Ogden, and in the third dual the Jags found themselves knotted 42-42 after 14 matches, seven matches won for the Jags and seven matches for the Rams of Greene County. After a lengthy review of criteria, the Rams won the dual based on the eighth criteria listed, first match points scored.

The Jags were certainly disappointed with the outcome of the Greene County dual but got after it against Audubon and Ogden wrestling aggressively on their feet and looking for falls. Greene County opened with a big lead against our middle of our young lineup but the top of the lineup: Fluckiger, Fisher, Nichols, and McFarland came storming back and tied the score.

Hopefully, we are getting the lineup set for the stretch run to Sectionals. Kyler has worked his way back from injury getting his first taste of action on the mat which solidifies our line up as well as Alex Pudenz working his way in the line up giving us more experience in the upper weights.
