SV vs Woodward-Granger 8th Boys

Woodward--The Jaguars traveled down to Woodard and played hard, but the Hawks came away with a 36-21 victory. The Jags matched the pressure of the Hawks and through one quarter of action it was 12-8 with the Jags trailing. Into the second quarter and the Jags were able to get stops and the defensive pressure was paying off as it went into halftime all tied up at 15 apiece. We needed to keep playing with the same pressure defensively and get things rolling on the offensive end. We need to get our screen and roll game going with the pressure they were putting on the ball. While the Jags were doing things correctly they struggled to get the ball in the hoop and the Hawks took the lead at 29-19 heading into the final quarter. The Jags continued to play hard and put themselves in good spots, but just couldn’t buy a basket and ended up falling 36-21 to a very tough Woodward-Granger squad. I was happy with the effort of the team, I just feel bad that the ball would fall through the hoop. When they play as hard as they did and execute the plan, it is just disheartening to not get the result you hoped for in this game. They will rebound and come out and play their next game with great effort. Scoring for the Jaguars: Hunter Miller (3), Jaiden Johnson (4), Caden Cramer (4), Conner Rentz (6), and Jacob Paterson (4). Also contributing for the Jaguars were: Tennis Stevens, Landon Vote, Colby Peterson, Carver Peterson, Landon Richardson, and Rigo Trujillo.
