Barnum--The Jaguars hit the road again and this time they defeated the Cougars of Manson Northwest Webster 40-21. The Jags got off to a slow start, but held a 7-5 advantage after one quarter of action. The Jags turned up the pressure in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 17-12 lead. We talked about keeping up the defensive pressure in the second half and getting downhill towards the basket on offense. The pressure continued into the third quarter and the Jaguars maintained a 28-15 advantage after the third quarter of play. Southeast Valley continued the momentum into the final quarter and came away with a 40-21 victory. I was really happy with the effort on the defensive end of the floor. We used our defense to create offense. We kept them uncomfortable and used that momentum to build and hold onto the lead. The Jaguars had nice balanced scoring; it was a complete team effort tonight in Barnum.
