Burnside- The Southeast Valley 8th grade boys lost a heartbreaker 27-26 to Manson Northwest-Webster. The Jags trailed 12-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Jags were down 17-11 going into the halftime break. During the intermission we talked about keeping our composure and valuing the basketball. We wanted to show patience on the offensive end of the floor and put pressure on the ball on the defensive end of the floor. The defense really came to play in the third quarter and only gave up 2 points and trailed 20-18 heading into the final quarter of action. The Jags again outscored the cougars in the final period, but it wasn’t enough as the Jags fell 27-26 to the Cougars. Scoring for the Jaguars: Tucker Ollinger (3), Ethan Martin (12), Josiah Hefley (6), August Akins (1), and Parker Bintz (4). The Jags are back at it against Eagle Grove on December 10th in Burnside.
