Burnside– The 8th Grade Jags came back from break to take on the Mustangs and came away with a 39-31 victory. The Jags got off to a fast start and led 14-5 after the first quarter. The Mustangs made a run in the second quarter, but the Jaguars maintained a 20-16 lead heading into the halftime break. We talked about playing with the same intensity and how to break their press during halftime. The Jags extended the lead in the third quarter to 32-22 in a fast paced game. Southeast Valley held onto their lead and wound up winning 39-31 in a fun, action packed game in the Burnside Gym. “I was extremely happy with the halftime adjustments they were able to make and used their press to turn it into our offense. We left some points out there, but I feel confident that we will get back to work and get better.
