Burnside-- The Jags opened the 23-24 Junior High 8th Grade Basketball season at home against the Madrid Tigers. In a highly competitive game the Jags fell 55-35. After one quarter of actions the Jags trailed 17-10. Going into halftime the Jags kept pace with the Tigers, but trailed 29-19. Coming out with the same intensity was the plan heading into the second half of action. The Jags struggled to get the ball in the basket and Madrid extended their lead to 44-23. The Jags kept clawing back, but ran out of time and lost 55-35. “The guys played extremely hard and executed the game plan. I'm proud of their efforts and look forward to what the season has ahead of them.” Scoring for the Jaguars: Landon Vote (6), Caden Cramer (2), Colby Peterson (2), Conner Rentz (9), Dawson Tuel (5), Carver Peterson (3), and Ben Wanat (8). Also contributing for the Jaguars was Hunter Miller and Landon Richardson.
