SVCSS Community Service Scholarship

SVCSS Scholarship Service Hours Form

The Southeast Valley Community Service Scholarship (SVCSS) organization (formerly Future Community Leaders) has been established to help Southeast Valley students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds while helping provide community service to their local area.

This organization is completely funded and run by local community members and volunteers.

As an organization, we would like to provide a scholarship for each graduating senior who is planning to continue his or her education.  To accomplish this, we have set up the Community Service scholarship. This scholarship will be given to any senior who has met the following criteria and plans to attend college, trade school, or any other educational program that charges tuition and will advance their future:

  1. Complete 40 community service hours by March 1st of his/her senior year. This is an average of 10 hours per year. These hours must also be documented on a SVCSS form and submitted to the SVHS office within a month of completing the hours or by September 1st for summer hours. Hours volunteered directly for SVCSS fundraisers (water sales, soup suppers, etc.) will be doubled.
  2. Complete the SVCSS Scholarship Application form and turn it in to the HS counselor by March 1st of his/her senior year.
  3. Earn at least a 2.0 (C- average) during their high school career.

As an added recognition, any senior who has acquired the required number of community service hours and documented them through SVCSS will receive a silver honor cord to wear during graduation ceremonies.

All hours that have been accumulated in previous years under the FCL organization will be transferred to the SVCSS organization.
