Jaguar Football Team Wins 6th Straight

The Jaguar Football team won their 6th straight game 62-31 over Clarion Goldfield.

This was a night where many school records were set. This was the most total yards a team has had in a single game with 713 total yards. Most passing yards by a team in a single game with 390. Most passing yards by a QB with 390.

This was a night if you like to watch offense. It was a fun game but if you're a defense gut both teams struggled to stop each other.

The Jags took the opening drive 75 yards in 6 plays with a run of 19 from Tre Fisher, Carl Berglund 13 and Lathe Muench took it in from the 24.

Clarion was forced to punt after 5 plays.

The Jags took 9 plays this time with some short runs from Lathe Muench but then Kolson Kruse had a 51 yard run for the TD. Lathe Muench ran in the 2 point conversion and it was now 14-0

Clarion was forced to punt after 3 plays.

Jags went right back to work. Kolson hit Eli for a 38 yard reception, followed by some runs and then Kolson Kruse hit Tre Fisher for a 14 yard TD. Lathe Muench ran in the 2 point conversion and the Jags led 22-0

Clarion did not let up and came right back at the Jags with a 54 yard pass for the TD and just like that it was 22-7

The Jags answered in 1 play with Kolson Kruse hitting Tre Fisher for a 65 yard TD. Lathe Muench ran in his 3rd straight 2 point conversion and the score was 30-7

Clarion ran 5 plays but had to punt it back.

3 plays later Kolson again connected with Tre for a 60 yard TD and the Jags led 36-7 with 4:00 left before half.

The Jags kicked off deep for the first time of the season and it backfired on them as Clarion returned it to the 6 yard line. The Jags defense had a great stand and forced Clarion to settle for 3.

With 2:00 minutes before half the Jags stayed aggressive. Kolson threw a 37 yard pass to Tre, a 24 yard pass to Eli and then hit Colton Brant for a 12 yard TD. Kolson ran in the 2 point conversion and the Jags led 44-10

With 31 seconds to go the Jags kicked off. Clarion had a 46 yard pass and took it in for the score to make the half time score 44-17.

The offense had done exactly what the game plan was this week to score a lot of points but the Jags special teams, tons of penalties and a couple defense plays had the coaches shaking their heads. The Jags talked about how all of them are going to hurt us in those close games and that we need to do better in the second half.

Clarion started the second half with the ball but Caden LArson picked off a pass to give the ball right back to the Jags.
