Southeast Valley High School

Jags Handed 1st Loss of the Season

Regular season comes to an end with a disappointing loss over Spirit Lake 21-14.

Spirit Lake was ranked #1 for the first four weeks until Southeast Valley took over that spot so both teams laid it on the line the whole game but the Jags did not have enough to hold them off at the end.

Jags found an early lead 14-0 and lead at half 14-7 but Spirit Lake Defense took over the second half and made the Jags offense struggle for the first time this season. Spirit Lake had a couple big plays and that was enough to give the Jags their first loss.

The Jags were the last 2A team without a loss so now nobody in class 2A has that undefeated season going for them.

Everyone was upset but everyone needs to move on fast because the Playoffs start this week and there is no second chance with a loss so we need to put this loss in the back of our heads and focus on what is in front of us.

The Jags finished the regular season 7-1 and were Back to Back District Champions.

The Jaguars will host Sheldon next week in the first round of the State Playoffs. Please come out and support the team next week.
