Jags Advance in the Playoffs

The Southeast Valley football team wins again 50-13 over Iowa Falls Alden and moves to 9-1 for the season and advanced to the State Quarter finals for the second straight season and for the 3rd time over the last 4 years.

The Jags faced a very run dominated Iowa Falls and a team who placed 2nd in their district. The Jags had not faced an offense like this but they were up for the challenge.

The Jags on-sided the opening play and recovered it. Kolson Kruse hit Tre Fisher for a quick 41 yards and the Kolson ran it in from the 1 yard line and also ran in the 2 point conversion and took the early lead 8-0

Jags defense stuffed the run game right away and forced Iowa Falls to punt but the Jags fumbled the return and gave Iowa Falls the ball on the 28. With great defense and penalties Iowa Falls faced a 4th and 36 and had to punt.

Two plays later Kolson Kruse hit Tre Fisher for a 48 yard TD. Kolson Kruse hit Drew Correll for the 2 point conversion. JAgs led 16-0

Jags defense forces a 3 and out.

The Jags offense fumbled the ball and Iowa Falls took advantage of it with a quick 71 yard run and made the score 16-6.

Jags offense wasted no time and Kolson, Carl and Lathe took over running the ball and marched right down the field and Kolson Kruse ran it in again from the 1 and Lathe Muench ran it the 2 point conversion and the score was now 24-6

Jags forced the 4th straight 3 and out and then had their 5th straight 3 and out.

The Jags had one more solid drive before the half. Lathe quick 6, Kolson 9, Pass the Eli for 4, Pass to Tre for 12, Kolson 34 yard run, Carl 12 yard run, LAthe for 7 and the Kolson hit Eli for a 4 yard TD and took the lead 30-6 at half.

The Jags started the second half where they left off. Colton Brant had a great kick return of 48 yards to start the half and LAthe Muench took over with runs of 11-3 and 3 for a TD. The Jags led 36-6

Jags forced the 6th straight 3 and out

Kolson hit Colton Brant and Eli for a couple passes and Lahe ran it in from the 2 and then Kolson ran in the 2 point conversion and the Jags led 44-6

Iowa Falls picked up their 1st first down of the game in the 3rd quarter and then scored on a 62 yard pass play and made the score 44-13

The Jags went to the I formation and wasted no time scoring with runs of 29 and a TD run of 31 to take the lead 50-13

The Jags defense only allowed 3 first downs the entire game. Only thing coaches were upset about was Iowa Falls' two big plays. Other than that they held Iowa Falls to 125 total yards.

This was another great win and now the Jags will host OABCIG in the State Quarter finals next week.
