Jags First Home Meet of the Season

A weary, tired, and a bit under the weather Jag wrestling team wrapped up their first half of the season in their home gym Tuesday, December 21st. The Jaguars were host to the Raiders of East Sac, E-Hawks of Emmetsburg, and the Hawks of South Hamilton. The Jags looked very aggressive against East Sac County in the first dual of the night, winning 69-10. In the second dual, the Jags opened with an early lead but Emmetsburg's strong middle weights sealed the win for the E-Hawks, 48-30. In the final dual of the night, the Jag offense opened up again, with the Jags claiming a 60-24 win.

"Overall, the guys wrestled fairly well in 2 out of the 3 duals. Our guys over break and into the second half of the season have to learn how to battle against strong, physical teams. Emmetsburg showed why they are the team to beat in the conference tournament race. They are really solid in the middle of their lineup. They out physicaled on the mat. Against East Sac and South Hamilton our guys were on the offense for the most part. We have to have the same type of confidence when wrestling strong teams and individuals."

Spencer Suchan, Caelan Oakes, and Mark Hughes went 3-0 for the night. Caleb Will also finished 3-0 for the night in JV action. Malaki Klatt, Max Miller, Carson Suchan, Ty Klatt, Harley Bryson, Zack Miller, and Ryan Wicklein finished 2-1; Kaden Holder, Conner Klingson, Rylie Ferrari, and Ethan Buenting notched a win. Carson Joyce, John Klingson, and Grant Smith each picked up a win at the JV level.
