Mustangs Sweep Jaguars

Gowrie, IA ~ The Mustangs of Newell Fonda came in Thursday night and defeated the young Jaguars by the scores of 6-25, 18-25, and 11-25. The ladies served at 88% with Madison Lane, Kenna Scott, and Paytin Dorsey perfect behind the serving line. Ellie Nolte and Scott each had one ace serve. The passing on serve receive wasn’t too bad, but the team had challenges setting the ball up and attacking on a positive basis. The team had more errors with attacking the ball than kills for a negative efficiency overall. For instance, the girls had fourteen kills against the Mustangs but had nineteen errors attacking the ball which gives them a negative efficiency rating. The team has to work on reducing errors during play.

Leading the way with kills was Addi Hindt who had five. She was followed with Breck Mills and Paige Weiland who had three each. Alex Kitchen had two kills and Kenna Scott had one. Mills had the only solo block for the night. Ellie Nolte and Madison Lane led the team with digs having four each. Dorsey had three digs, Scott had two and Maddie VanSickle had one.

With the offense, Kenna Scott had six assists, Lane had five, and Nolte and Kitchen having one each.

The team stands at 2-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
