Jags Defeat Titans

Gowrie, IA ~ The Southeast Valley Jaguars defeated the Titans of GTRA (Graettinger) with the scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-19. In the first two games, the ladies were behind but rallied back to win both games.

Leading the offense was Breck Mills having 12 kills and with a hitting proficiency of .27 for a season high. Addi Hindt was right behind her with 12 kills and a proficiency of .25. Other girls contributing kills were Alex Kitchen with four, Ellie Nolte with two, Maddie VanSickle with three, and Paige Weiland with three. Ellie Nolte had 25 assists for the night. Madison Lane led the girls with nine digs followed by Maddie VanSickle having five. Others contributing digs were Alex Kitchen with two, Kenna Scott with two and Lauren Johnson with three.

The team served at 91.8% efficiency with Madison Lane being perfect behind the serving line with nine. Alex Kitchen was 96% with her serving with two aces out of 25 attempts. Ellie Nolte had two ace serves at 92% efficiency. Maddie VanSickle had one ace serve. The team served below 85% the first game but improved the next two game serving above 92%. 

The team finishes the regular season with a record of 7-18 and 2-9 in conference play. The girls open Regional play on Monday, October 18th here in Gowrie. They will face the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden.


JV tops GTRA

The junior varsity squad defeats the Titans by the scores of 18-25, 25-18, and 15-12. The team served at 70% with most of the serving errors occurring in the first game. The next two games, the girls only missed two serves. Going perfect behind the serving line was Erica Burger with twelve, Annabelle MacRunnel with seven and Lauren Johnson with six. Lauren Johnson and Meghan Willison each had one ace serve. Paige Weiland led the team with five kills and one block. The girls finished the season with a record of 9-11-2.
