Flu & Immunization Clinic

Webster County Public Health will be at the Burnside and Dayton buildings to offer a flu clinic to all students and staff wishing to participate on Monday October 15. Cost will be $25 unless your insurance covers the flu vaccination.

WCPH will also be offering the Dtap booster and the meningococcal vaccine for those 7th & 8th graders who have not received them as of yet at the middle school at the same time as the flu clinic. Iowa state law now required that all incoming 7th grade students must have the DTap and Meningococcal immunizations. Parents also have the option of having an exemption filled out.  The DTap is the Diptheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (Whooping Cough) vaccine and the Meningococcal is to prevent meningitis. If you have insurance that covers the immunizations please make a copy of your card. If you are underinsured or uninsured the immunizations will be covered. The immunizations and the flu permission are on the same sheet. If you want one but not the other, just write on the form what you want.

Forms have been sent home with each student; however, you can access the form with this attachment below if your form has not made it to you. Please call if you have any questions.

Building Security

Effective immediately, during the school day we will be asking all visitors to the building to identify themselves and to state the purpose of their visit before we will buzz them in.

In an effort to increase our building safety measures and to better insure the safety of all children, you will hear the following when you use the buzz in system:
“Good morning/afternoon!  How may I help you today?”

We ask that your response be:

“I am _______________ and I am here to _________________.”

We ask for your understanding, even if we do see you twice or more each day, as this is now a part or our building protocol.  We also ask that you do not encourage passers-by to open the door to let you in.  We will buzz you in from the Office or the Daycare once you have identified yourself.  If you have questions, please stop by the Office.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
