Jags improve to 2-0

Print Version

The Jaguars improve to 2-0 on the season after trailing at halftime and also committing 12 penalties for 110 yards.

Pocky opens the game with a 6 play drive and was forced to punt.

Jags move the ball for 12 plays but a penalty stalled the drive and were forced to punt.

Pocky 4 and out

Jags forced to punt after 4 plays but recover a fumble on the punt but once again had to punt after another 4 plays.  The offense could not get anything going and the running game at that point came to a stand still.  End of the first 0-0

Pocky puts a ten play drive together and attempted a FG and was no good.

Once again the Jags offense gets stuffed and punts

3 plays later Pocky takes the lead 7-0 and a couple nice runs.  Pocky was excited and the Jags were trailing for the first time of the season.

The Jags fight back on a 12 play passing scoring drive.  Hunter Kruse hit Carter Lane for a 12 yard catch, then hit Chase Swieter for a 19 yard catch and a 4 yarder, followed by Carter Lane catching another 8 yarder then Hunter Kruse hit Chase Swieter for a 14 yard TD.

Score at half was 7-6

Jags get rolling the second half running the ball but then were sacked for a big loss and could not recover from it and had to punt.

Jags defense steps up and forces a punt after 3 plays.

One play later Lathe Muench has a 37 yard TD run from great blocking and the Jags take the lead 12-7.  This was the first time the Jags had run that play this year.

Both teams get stalled the next drives with some great defense play and not very good offense play.  The Jags also picked up 4 penalties in that time which was killing the Jags.  End of the 3rd 12-6 Jags

Jags still could not get anything going, had 3 straight penalties and were getting frustrated but then Hunter Kruse scrambled to the right and the line stayed on their blocks, and Chase Swieter saw Hunter scrambling and took off and Hunter found Chase Swieter for a 58 yard TD.  Jags take the lead 18-7

The Jags defense got tested a couple more times but kept Pocky out of the End Zone.

The Coaches were not happy how the boys played in the first half.  Pocky was playing way more physical than us and the boys were not doing what they have been coached to do.  The boys did step up and play way harder and brought home a win.

Coach Swieter also said we can't commit 12 penalties for 110 yards.  Last week we had 4 turnovers and held on for the win.  This week very lucky to survive after that many mistakes.  We can't continue to make those mistakes and win.

The Jags will be home this week for homecoming.  The Jags need a week of healing and need a great week of practice.  The Jags will be trying to win their 10th straight home game dating back to 2017.  We take pride in winning and at home we must protect our sacred acre.
