7/9 @ MADRID L 3-5 (12-11)

Print Version

The Jaguars for the second game of the week traveled to Madrid for a game against the Tigers who they usually face in their home tourney.  The Tigers have a solid squad and the Jaguars sent out their senior Coledon Bethel who gave up two early runs but scored two runners with an errant throw on a bunt which scored two runners.  A slow start for the Jaguars was the worst case scenario as those two runs ended up being big ones.  Coledon threw to his max of pitches allowed which lead him to five innings pitched giving up six hits, but Madrid only earned two of their five runs.  Coledon threw really well only striking out two batters but only walking two batters as well.

Offensively the Jaguars only mustered four hits, the biggest one coming off the bat of Jacob Slininger and Sam Hanson.  Sam’s came in the 6th inning which scored one runner and was real close to scoring another before being thrown out at home, a big play that could have changed the game for sure.  Jacob Slininger was the other Jaguar getting a big hit which went up the middle and came at the right time as it scored one runner and the other RBI by Jacob came on a grounder to second in the 7th inning, Giving him two RBI’s on the day.  The other two Jaguars gathering hits included Jackson Housken and Memphis Simpson each with one hit a piece.  The jaguars had a total of seven walks on the day which allowed Kolson Kruse to score twice once off a walk early in the game.

The Jaguars finished off their regular season with a 12 and 11 record.  Now on to post season action!
