7/8 @ EAGLE GROVE 11-4 W (12-10)

Print Version

The Jags finished their final week of the regular season going to Eagle Grove to take on the young Eagles.  The Jaguars did their fair or scoring getting three runs in the third and fourth then four more runs in the 6th inning.  Unfortunately a few miscues and one solid hit lead to four runs by the Eagles which allowed the game to continue to the seventh where both teams ended up not scoring and the game ended at 11 to 4 win for the Jaguars.  The Jaguars were sparked by Senior pitcher Jackson Housken who went 5 innings reaching his pitch count at 90.  Jackson was throwing a no hitter at the time but getting tired on a hot day he gave the ball to Kolson Kruse, who gave up the only hit of the game.  Technically the run went to Jackson as the runner who reached was Jackson’s last batter faced.  Combined the pitching duo only allowed one hit and struck out an incredible 14 batters but also gave up 9 walks.

The Jaguars did the job offensively with almost all the Jaguars gaining a hit.  Jaguars gaining one hit were Jackson Housken, Xavier Nichols, Jacob Slininger, Memphis Simpson, and Coledon Bethel.  Jaguars recording two hits for the Jaguars were Kolson Kruse, Colton Kamp, and Sam Hanson which one of his two hits was a double.  Memphis Simpson’s lone hit was also a double.  All in all the Jaguars recorded 11 hits with 7 RBI’s to go along with 10 walks.  Crossing the plate for the Jaguars included Kolson Kruse and Memphis Simpson once.  Jackson Housken, Xavier Nichols, and Jacob Slininger all crossed home twice while Colton Kamp topped them all scoring three times.
