6-27 Coon Rapids L 0-13 (10-9)

Print Version

Senior Night for the Jag seniors came to Dayton Iowa and it was great to see the community honoring the Jaguar Seniors.  Coledon Bethel, Jackson Housken, Colton Kamp, Max Davis, Mason Ackerson and Xavier Nichols all were honored along with their parents before the game.  The parent/guardian were honored and then got to throw out the first pitch to their son, a very cool moment.  Sadly the Jaguars did not play their best games sending out Jacob Slininger who threw well but a few miscues by the Jag defense didn’t help.  In three innings Jacob gave up 9 runs but only four of them were earned.  Sam Hanson replaced Jacob in 4th throwing okay giving up four runs on five hits.  Offensively the Jaguars faced one of Coon Rapids best pitchers and couldn’t get much momentum started only collecting on hit off the bat of Senior Colton Kamp.  It was a sad end to senior night but the Jaguars faced a very tough opponent in 9th ranked Coon Rapids with a tough week of baseball the Jags would finish their week with a conference game against Newell Fonda.

JV Action: 1-5 L

It had been awhile since the Jaguars JV team got to play, finally the Jaguars JV squad was back in action.  They played okay but it was not enough as they lost 1-5.  Zack Miller threw the game for the Jaguars followed by Parker Garica in relief after reaching his pitch count.  Both of the Jag pitchers threw pretty well a few early walks got the better of the young Jag pitcher but settling in and a few errors allowed the Raiders their five runs which occurred on either walks or errors.  Zack Miller pitched but he also scored the only run of the game while Memphis Simpson recorded two hit on the day.
