6-26 Manson NW Webster W 10-0(5) (10-8)

Print Version

The second game of the hot Wednesday afternoon was against the Cougars from Manson.  The Jaguars had just lost to South Central and with the hot weather it was stacked against them how they might respond.  Taking the mound and doing a stellar job was Senior Coledon Bethel who pitched all five innings giving up two hits with no runs, while striking out nine batters.  The Jaguars played good defense as well but it was the senior pitcher who was the spark the Jaguars needed.

The offense after not scoring a run the last two games finally got some runs but walks definitely helped as the Jags recorded seven walks.  Seniors Xavier Nichols and Mason Ackerson had the big hits on the day as they both recorded home runs in the 4th inning.  The Jaguars first home run of the season came off the bat of Mason Ackerson’s solo shot followed up by Xavier Nichol’s three run home run.  Those two were not the only ones gathering hits on the day with Carson Lambert, Coledon Bethel, and Memphis Simpson each recording a hit while Mason had one more hit along with his home run.  Senior Jackson Housken had his biggest hit of the game with the last at bat with bases loaded, Jackson hit a huge shot scoring Sam Hanson and Kolson Kruse to end the game with the 10 run mercy rule.
