6-26 South Central Calhoun – Conference 0-5 L (9-8) (6-4)

Print Version

The postponed game from earlier in the season was scheduled as a double header giving the Jags four games in four days.  The Titans sent their ace to the mound as well as the Jaguars sending theirs Jackson Housken.  Giving up two early runs in the first inning the Titans got up early, something the Jaguars did not want to see as they are not a come from behind team. Jackson keep pitching until the 5th were he gave up another run and this brought in Rhett Grandfield into the game where Rhett finished the rest of the game, giving up two runs in the 6th but only allowing two hits.  Walks were a huge disadvantage for the Jags as they gave up 8 total walks while striking out 10.

Runners left on base was again a big problem for the Jaguars, but hits were there with 6 total hits as a team but none of them with runners in scoring position which prevented any Jag runner from scoring.  A slew of Jaguars gathered hits, Kolson Kruse, Xavier Nichols, and Jacob Slininger all were 1 for 3.  Colton Kamp had a good game going 2 for 2 with one walk.  Rounding out the hitting was Carson Lambert who pinch hit and made the most of it with a hit.

The regularly scheduled date for the game would have been a good time to play the Titans, with the Jags on a hot streak but the Jags have been struggling to hit the ball and not playing their best baseball.  Unfortunately the Titans took the conference match up setting the Jags back to their record of 6 and 4 in conference with one more game left in conference play
