6/12 Pocahontas L 0-4 (5-6) (2-3)

Print Version

6/12 Pocahontas L 0-4 (5-6) (2-3)

The conference leader Pocahontas was the Jaguars first opponent of the week.  The Indians are in the leader seat for the conference title and have been beating conference foes big time in the past weeks.  The Jaguars sent out Freshmen Kolson Kruse, facing the best team in the conference the young pitcher did very well. Only allowing 4 hits in 6 innings of pitching, unfortunately those 4 hits lead to 3 runs but Kolson managed to strike out a batter an inning.  Jacob Slininger came in the last inning and allowed one run but threw well in relief for the Jaguars.

The Jag bats were silenced on the day.  The Jaguars faced their toughest pitcher to date in Pocahontas’ ace.  The lone hit of the day came off the bat of pitcher Kolson Kruse. It was a tough game against a tough opponent but considering the beat down Indians have been putting on teams lately the Jaguars showed a lot of heart and played good baseball just fell short.

JV ACTION: L 2-14 (3-4-1)

It was a tough day for the Jaguar JV as well, getting beat by a substantial amount but the Jaguars who were looking to save pitching threw Freshmen Zack Miller to his pitch count and then seldom used Hunter Sorenson to the mound.  Hunter showed a lot of guts going out there to pitch after not throwing for some time.  Offensively Hunter and Chase Kamp were the lone runs on the day for the Jaguars.
