Junior High Softball Article 6/12

The Southeast Valley junior high softball teams put a pair of games in the “win” column Wednesday morning. The seventh and eighth grade Jaguars hosted the PAC Indians and won 12-2 (seventh grade) and 7-2 (eighth grade). Both squads has excellent showings at the plate and solid defense in the field.

The seventh grade Jags opened up the competition with Anna Corell getting the bats going quickly with a lead off double to left-center, followed by a single from Chloe Lambert, both would go on to score putting the jags up early. The seventh grade squad showed discipline at the plate by boasting 11 walks and scoring 10 more runs. Defensively, the Jags were lead by a dominant showing in the circle by Chloe Lambert who struck out 12 in five innings of play.

The eighth grade team showed power in the box during their first at bats with Ellie Nolte and Jordyn Rowley both hitting triples, Payton Will’s single and Ava Brunner’s double, set them up to be scored easily by an Alex Kitchen homeroom. Defensively, the Jags were sound, only allowing PAC to score twice. Payton Will and Ellie Nolte combined for seven strikeouts to help push the Jags to another win. The junior high softball team will be back in action Thursday, June 13, for a home contest against Newell-Fonda.
