6/5 @ EMMETSBERG 4-7 L (4-3) (2-1 Conference)

 Print Version

Facing off against the newest member of the Twin Lakes Conference the Jaguars got rained out last year so this year was the first time they had played each other.  The Jaguars sent out their senior pitcher Colden Bethel to take on the E-Hawks.  The Jaguars defense got two quick outs but after some infield errors the E-Hawks capitalized on the errors scoring four runs in the first inning.  The Jag baseball team was playing from behind the rest of the game trying to spark some momentum.  Colden Bethel threw a remarkable game but the E-Hawks keep coming up with dinky donk hits all night and with some misplays by the Jag defense the Jags could not make up the difference in the score.  Coledon gave up 9 hits and seven runs but only three runs were earned sadly.  Kolson Kruse came in again to relieve Coledon showing real promise by striking out all five batters he faced.  Offensively the Jaguars only mustered four hits coming off the bats of Jackson Housken, Xavier Nichols, Jacob Slininger and Quinton Clancy whose lone hit was a double which fell in the deep left field which scored Colton Kamp.  The Jaguars made the game close in the seventh as they loaded the bases and score one run.  Down by three the Jaguars had a shot with bases loaded.  The Jaguars sent up Memphis Simpson who has been killing the ball lately to pinch hit.  After coming to a full count and runners running a big hit is all the Jags needed but sadly after a questionable strike three call the game was over.

JV ACTION  3-6 L (3-3)

In Junior Varsity action the Jaguars threw a slew of different pitchers to prepare them for Varsity action.  Pitching for the JV was Quinton Clancy, Sam Hanson, and Rhett Grandfield.  Hits for the Jaguars came off the bats of Hunter Sorenson, Memphis Simpson, Parker Garcia and Lucas Jondle.  Chase Kamp had a huge game for the Jaguar JV bats earning two base hits on the night.  There were plenty of hits but not as many runs and the E-hawks took the game 3 to 6.
