5/22/19 Southeast Valley 10 East Sac 0 in 5 innings

After a struggle with the bats earlier in the week the Jags got good run support against East Sac. The Jags were able to plate a run in the first inning on a lead off hit by E. Jaeschke followed by a sac bunt by Shelby Cummins, Lundberg would move the runner with a ground out and Catenson would bring in Jaeschke with her double. Jaynie Ferrari doubled in the second inning and scored on another double by Cassidy Lambert. The fourth inning opened the doors with 3 runs coming across. Another double by Ferrari, a single by Cassi Berglund and a second double by Lambert would get it going. Five more runs plated in the fifth and final frame of the game. Castenson started with a walk, Kenzie Crampton doubled, followed by a single by Ferrari. Berglund would single and Cassidy Lambert hit her third double of the night. E. Jaeschke doubled in Lambert to end the game early. Kenzie Crampton picked up the win giving up 0 runs on three hits, walked 1 and struck out 11. Emily Jaeschke finished 3-4 with a double, Jaynie Ferrari was 3-3 with 2 doubles, Cassi Berglund was 2-3 and Cassidy Lambert went 3-3 with 3 doubles.

5/23/19 Southeast Valley 7 South Central Calhoun O

The Jags traveled to Lytton to take on SCC. The JV got off the bus and started to warm up and then it was decided varsity should go first due to weather. In a rush the girls got ready and were able to plate four runs in the first inning. Lead off, Emily Jaeschke, got things started with a single. She would advance on a sac bunt by Shelby Cummins and would score on the double of Kasey Lundberg. Morgan Csatenson would single in Lundberg. Kenzie Crampton reached on an error and Ferrari would walk. A mishandled ball hit by Cassi Berglund would score Crampton. The next two innings went three up three down and then the lightning struck and a 30 minute delay was enacted. Once again the Jags responded by adding 2 runs after the delay as Berglund walked and stole second. A base rip by Shelby Cummins would score Berglund. Cummins would come across the plate on a series of walks and an error. The fifth frame started with a blast over the fence by Kenzie Crampton and that would finish off the scoring for the lady Jags. Crampton led the offense going 2-4, E. Jaeschke, Cummins, Lundberg and Castenson each had a hit, Castenson threw a 2 hitter with o walks and 9 K's.

5/25/19 Southeast Valley 4 Boone 5 Ogden Tournament

Softball traveled to Ogden for a lengthy day of games. Boone struck first as they took advantage of a Jaguar error to score in the first inning. They again scored three runs in the third inning and the Jags saw themselves in a 3-0 hole. Finally in the fourth inning Cassi Berglund roped a double and would score on the based hit by Maddie VanSickle. The Jags held the Toreadors scoreless in the bottom of the fourth and managed to tie the game in the 5th inning. Shelby Cummins drew a walk and Kasey Lundberg got a hit to move Cummins. Morgan Castenson was able to plate Lundberg with her hit and Mady Jaeschke and Kenzie Crampton singled to load the bases. Berglund had her third hit of the day and drove in Castenson and Jaeschke to even out the score. The Jags had a chance to score the go ahead run in the 6th inning when Emily Jasechke walked; Cummins came up with a hit that put Jaeschke at third. Lundberg hit a fly ball to center but a base running error cost the run. Again the Jag defense held Boone in the sixth frame. Kenzie Crapmton kept the hope alive as she delivered a 2 out double in the top of the seventh inning. Another base running error gave the team the third out. Boone had 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th but one mighty swing from the shortstop put the end to a Jag comeback. Too many

errors and mental mistakes cost the girls the game, Crampton finished on the mound allowing 5 runs on 8 hits one walk and 4 strikeouts. Berglund was 3-3 on the day and Cummins, Lundberg, and Castenson recorded 2 hits each.

Southeast Valley 7 Martensdale St. Mary's 6 Ogden Tourney

The Jags jumped on the board early as they took advantage of a couple walks, a couple stolen bases by E. Jaeschke and S. Cummins. Lundberg singled in Jaeschke and Cummins would score on a passed ball. Lundberg would score off a wild pitch to take the lead 3-0. Martensdale sputtered through the first 2 innings and remained scoreless. Emily Jaeschke hit one out in the second frame for the 4-0 advantage. Some shaky defense by SV allowed Martensdale to score three runs in the top of the third but the Jags were able to respond. A single by Lundberg, a double by Castenson, and a hit by M. Jaeschke along with a bases loaded double by Maddie VanSickle would give the girls some breathing room or so we thought. The top of the 5th inning Martensdale used two errors, a double and a single to bring in 3 runs and tighten the score to 7-6. Due to a time limit the game ended early and the Jags held on to win. Morgan Castenson picked up the win for Southeast as she scattered 7 hits giving up 3 earned runs, walked 0 and had 9 K's. Offensively the team was led by Kasey Lundberg who was 3-3 and Mady Jaeschke who was 2-3 on the day.

Southeast Valley 6 Glidden Ralston 2 Ogden Tourney

Maddie Vansickle made her pitching debut as an 8th grader and put one in the win column for the Jags. Maddie gave up 7 hits, 2 runs, walked 3 and struck out 7. Glidden scored first behind a couple hits and a walk, but the Jags would find run support in the bottom of the frame. Shelby Cummins would get the inning started with a hit followed by a stolen base. She would score on the triple by Kasey Lundberg. Lundberg would then score on a wild pitch to go up 2-1. Glidden scored their last run of the game in the second inning on an obstruction call. Kenzie Crampton led the second inning off with a double and would score on a mishandled ball hit by Maddie Vansickle. Vansickle settled in in the third and fourth innings as she struck out 5 of 7 batters. The Jags plated three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning as Cummin's singled and Lundberg walked. A fielder's choice by Morgan Castenson would score Cummins. Mady Jaeschke singled in Lundberg and Crampton's sac fly brought in Jaeschke. Again due to time limit the Jags defeated Glidden Ralston 6-2. Shelby Cummins led the offense with a 2-3 performance, she also had 2 stolen bases.
