Print Version

The Girls track team finish their season and have a lot to be proud of.  The season ended down at the State Track meet where Kiersten Fisher won the first State Championship for Southeast Valley by winning the State High Jump with a jump of 5-04.  This is great for her and her family but also a great accomplishment for the school, the communities and her coaches.  There is so much to be proud of when you accomplish something like this.  This was Coach Swieter first State Champion and he was very happy when Kiersten won.  He wanted to also say thanks to Tonya Harrsion who has coached with Coach Swieter for 15 years and also wanted to says thanks to coach Kruse in helping Kiersten out when he could at practices and meets.  Kiersten also placed 2nd at State in the open 100 and set a new school record.  She also set a new school record on the 100 Hurdles and placed 8th and another school record in the 200 and placed 12th.  Southeast Valley placed 14th overall in class 2A out of 96 total teams.

The girls track team finished the season by winning 2 meets, set 4 school records and placed 4th at Conference and at Districts.  Coach Swieter hopes another successful track season gets more girls out next year.
