Jaguar Boy’s Golf Close Out Season

Print Version

@Gowrie May 7, 2019: The Jaguars were defeated by Pocahontas Area 169-196. Carter Fluckiger led the Jags with 45. Lane Fevold shot 49, Quinton Clancy 50 and Kenny Blunk 52.  Braeden Johnson shot 62 and Carson Suchan 63. The JV was also defeated 195-221. Caden Larson shot a career best 49. Caleb TenEyck and AJ Smith shot 57 each while Lucas Jondle and Will Halligan each carded 58. Carson Lambert shot 63. Coach Blunk commented “I really thought we’d shoot better scores. We had a great practice on Friday with some pretty decent scores. I know a lot of the boys played a lot of holes over the weekend and played pretty well too but it didn’t happen today. Consistency is the key; we just were not consistent today.”

Sectionals @Hinton May 10, 2019: The Jaguars finished 8th in Sectional 18-hole action with a team total 413. Quinton Clancy led the Jags with 96. Carter Fluckiger shot 97, Kenny Blunk 106 and Lane Fevold 114. Carson Suchan shot 118 and Braeden Johnson 122. Coach Blunk commented “we obviously would have liked to play better but our scores are very close to what we have been shooting this year. I am hoping the underclassmen spend a lot of time on the course this summer. They have the potential to shoot better scores as we have in a few rounds this year. With some work this summer and next fall they will improve for next season. The team as a whole has been a great group of kids to work with. It’s been a lot of fun this year. Our two seniors, Carter Fluckiger and Kenny Blunk have been a true asset with their leadership. As a coach you couldn’t ask for better couple of kids to have on your team. Their work ethic and helpfulness was awesome. I will miss them…. a lot.”

The Jags varsity finished 6-11 overall and 3-8 in conference play with a team stroke average of 204. Carter Fluckiger was low stroke average winner at 47.5. The JV finished 5-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play with a team total stroke average of 249.

A big thanks to the Gowrie and Dayton golf courses and all their employees for their continued support. We are very fortunate to have two nice courses to use for our golf teams. The courses were in good shape even with the crazy weather this spring.  Thank you.
