Jags finished 4th at Jim Yunek Relays

Due to the Twin Lakes Conference track meet being postponed to Thursday, the Jim Yunek Relays in Lake City got pushed to the next night, Friday, May 3rd.  With most of the Jaguar varsity running hard on the night before, Southeast Valley gave many of those boys a rest on Friday and took a very freshman and sophomore laiden team to Lake City to compete.

The future looks bright as the Jaguars finished fourth in the varsity meet scoring 81 points and only fifteen points behind second place IKM-Manning and two points behind third place Pocahontas.  Host South Central Calhoun won the meet.

The Jaguars got first place finishes from Aaron Graves in the shot put (44’ 10.5”) and Nyles Johnson in the 100m dash (11.76).  Graves also took 2nd in the discus (118’ 3”) and Tre Fisher took 2nd in the 400m low hurdles (1:07.46). Kaleb Scott also picked up silver in the high jump (5’ 10”).  

The relay team of Kaleb Scott, Zack Miller, Max Miller and Lathe Muench set a new freshman record of 49.78 in the 4 x 100m relay to take third place.  They also took third place in the 4 x 200m relay in a time of 1:42.11, just missing the freshman record there.

Fourth place finishes wen to Carter Lane in the 110m high hurdles (17.02) and Everett Lahr in the 200m dash (24.23).  Two relays also picked up fourth place finishes. The distance medley relay of Tre Fisher, Colton Brant, Jonah Seibert and Robert Jepsen ran 4:21.6 while the 4 x 400 quartet of Fisher, Brant, Sibert and Ty Klatt finished in 4:09.41.  

Everett Lahr took fifth in the high jump (5’ 6”), Asa Haub 5th in the 3200m run (12:41.18) and Levi Reutzel took 6th in the 400m dash (1:00.41).  Jonah Siebert, Colton Brant, Gabe Campbell, and Saxon Wirtz took 5th in the 4 x 800 relay (9:58.16).
