Jaguar Boys Golf Opens Season

The Jaguar boys golf team started practice March 11. Lots of new faces make up the young roster this spring. Senior letter winners Carter Fluckiger and Kenny Blunk, along with junior letter winner Quinton Clancy return to anchor the team. Participants include juniors Zane Geiss and AJ Smith. Sophomores are Lane Fevold, Braeden Johnson, Carson Lambert, Blake Peterson, Evan Schmid, Logan Stapp and Caleb TenEyck. Freshman players are Brayden Danielson, Will Halligan, Lucas Jondle, Caleb Kaltschnee, Caden Larson, Kaleb Monroe, Carson Suchan and Pierce Woodruff.

@Lake City April 8, 2019: Congratulations to the Jaguar boys golf team on their second place finish at Lake City Country Club vs. South Central Calhoun, Storm Lake St Mary’s and Alta Aurelia. Team scores were SCC 194, SEV 208, Alta 209 and Storm Lake St Mary’s 211. Carter Fluckiger finished 3rd overall at 47 and Kenny Blunk 5th overall at 49. Lane Fevold shot 54 and Carson Lambert 58. Braeden Johnson shot 62 and Carson Suchan 66. Modified JV scores were Lucas Jondle 62, AJ Smith 64, Caden Larson 67, Logan Stapp 70, Caleb TenEnyck 73 and Zane Geiss 83. Coach Blunk commented “it is always good to get the first meet of the year in to get a better idea of where you are at. We need to keep working hard at practice, especially on putting and chipping, so hopefully the weather holds and we can get outside and try to improve.”

@Lakeside Fort Dodge April 9, 2019: The Jaguar boys golf team improved by 6 strokes but was defeated by St. Edmond at Lakeside in Fort Dodge. The Jaguars shot 202 and St. Eds 185. Counting scores for the Jaguars were Carter Fluckiger at 44, Lane Fevold 51, Carson Suchan 52 and Kenny Blunk 55. Carson Lambert shot 58 and Braeden Johnson 59. Caleb TenEyck led the JV at 54. AJ Smith shot 59. Caden Larson and Lucas Jondle carded 65’s, Logan Stapp 70 and Zane Geiss 72 (modified scores). Coach Blunk commented “Carter played well and a couple of the younger kids scored better.  As a team we improved by 6 strokes. A few of the kids got some bad breaks with good golf ball strikes that ended in bad places, but that’s golf. Hopefully we can continue to get better.”
