Jaguar Girls take on East Sac

The Southeast Valley Jaguar girl's basketball team hit the road, on Friday, February 1st. After a hard fought battle, the Jaguars fell to the East Sac Raiders 69-74. The Jags ended the first quarter trailing 10-20. The girls brought the hustle in the second quarter to pump out twenty-one offensive points, closing the gap entering half-time, 31-35. At the end of the third quarter, the Jaguars trailed 48-56. With three minutes left in the fourth quarter the Jags were down 55-68, but rallied to produce fourteen points, (ten of those points in the last minute of the game).

Mady Jaeschke led the Jaguars with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 boards. Emily Jaeschke supported the team effort with 13 points, 4 steals, and 4 assists. Morgan Castenson lit it up from behind the arch, connecting on 4 three-points to add 12 points, and found her teammates to dish out an impressive 8 assists.  Jaynie Ferrari brought the hustle to add 12 points and 6 rebounds for the Jaguars. Kenzie Crampton muscled in 11 points to help fuel the Jaguar effort. Cassi Berglund finished with 5 points (including a three-pointer) and dished out 3 assists. Chloe Hicks provided some quality defensive effort to aid the Jaguars and collected 2 points from the charity stripe.
