Print Version

Southeast Valley hosted Manson Northwest-Webster in the Gowrie gym on Tuesday, January 15th. Despite their 100% focus on the free-throw line, and having the lead for most of the game, the Jaguars fell to the Cougars 53-57. At the end of the first quarter the Jags were ahead 10-7, and entered half-time with a 27-26 lead. While holding MNW to nine points in the third quarter, the Jags only scored nine third quarter points. Trailing 46-52 in the final minute of regulation, Morgan Castenson hit a huge three-pointer, cutting the lead to three. Jaynie Ferrari and Emily Jaeschke each hustled in a bucket to aid in the final surge by the Jaguars, but the Cougars converted at the free-throw line on their end in the final seconds to seal the victory.

Kenzie Crampton continued to display her solid inside game, powering up 16 points to lead the Jaguar offense. Crampton converted an impressive eight of eight from the charity stripe. Ferrari drained two shots from behind the arch to contribute 10 points for the Jags, and she ripped down 7 boards. Emily Jaeschke scored 9 points, hustled 6 rebounds, and recorded 4 assists to aid the Jaguar effort. Castenson and Kasey Lundberg produced 8 points apiece for the Jags. Castenson also dished out an impressive 6 assists to her teammates. Mady Jaeschke hit a shot to finish the contest with 2 points. She also muscled down 7 boards for her team.
