Southeast Valley heads to Clarion-Goldfield-Dows

Southeast Valley Girls Varsity traveled to Clarion Tuesday, January 8th to face Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. A slow start plagued the Jaguars, as they fell to the Cowgirls 36-50. The Jags were only able to put up 3 points in the first quarter, and entered the locker room at the half trailing 11-30. Life came to the Jags in the third quarter as they collected 12 points, entering the final eight minutes behind 23-46. Fighting all the way through the fourth to put up 13 points. Their defensive effort only allowed CGD to score 4 points in the fourth quarter.Despite a solid effort from the Jaguars their second half game was not enough to overcome the first half deficit.

Kenzie Crampton went to work in the paint to lead the Jaguar offense with 12 points. Crampton also ripped down 6 boards and recorded 4 steals. Mady Jaeschke turned it on in the second half, scoring 8 points for the Jags. Morgan Castenson and Emily Jaeschke scored 5 points apiece. E. Jaeschke collected all of her points from the charity stripe and hustled for 6 steals, along with dishing out 4 assists. Jaynie Ferrari went to the free-throw line to contribute 3 points for the Jags. Chloe Hicks sank two throws to end the contest with 2 points. Kasey Lundberg added 1 point for the Jaguars.
