Robotics team has two meets in December

Print Version

This month, the Southeast Valley JagWires robotics teams competed at two different meets. On December 8th, they traveled to IKM-Manning High School. The next one was on December 15th in Humboldt High School.

In Manning, both teams had a good showing. The team JagWires Black added a scoop mechanism to pick up the “minerals”, which helped to gain many points. The JagWires Silver team had an arm to experiment with. Both teams fared pretty well and had very solid matches throughout the day. At the end of this meet, Black team was ranked 2nd and Silver was ranked 6th out of 16 teams in their league.

The Humboldt meet was also very eventful for both teams. The Black team made the addition of a lift to gain many points in the autonomous and endgame phases, which benefitted them greatly. The Silver team, unfortunately, had some major difficulties. The team attempted to add claws to the arm to try and make it grab minerals more effectively, which ended up making the arms have some difficulties, which ultimately resulted in it being removed. This arm malfunction resulted to Silver dropping to 11th in league standings, with Black dropping only one spot to hold onto 3rd.

Both JagWires teams will be looking to make lots of improvements in the next few weeks. After break, they’ll be back in action at their final regular season meet of the year on January 5th, in Glidden-Ralston. The league championships will be held in Fort Dodge on January 19th. Matches start at 11:00 for both of these meets. Both teams would love to have your support at either or both of these meets!
